Correction of jaw displacement

Jaw displacement is genetic, and becomes apparent during the growth of the upper and lower jaw. The jaw can either grow too much or too little and can be either too small or too large. Asymmetrical growth of the right and left halves of the face is also possible. Not only is this unattractive, it also causes functional impairment of mastication. The surgical procedure involves correcting the position of the jaw, thus restoring harmonious facial proportions and proper contact between the teeth of the upper and lower jaw.

Surgeries are carried out under general anaesthesia and require hospitalisation for three to five days in the AndreasKlinik Hirslanden or the Zug Cantonal Hospital.
